Barefoot Interview #36: Australia's Steve

There are many different people from all over the world who like going barefoot. Some people like doing it as a hobby. On the other hand, other people who go barefoot as a tradition or as a part of their culture. Apparently, there are many who like going barefoot are unable to share their stories. So, this will be a long interviewing series and talk to people who are from all over and let them speak about their barefooting. So, welcome the newest barefoot interviewee, Steve. He is (currently) a 21-year-old student (and in his final year) who is currently working part time in retailing; she was both born and resides in Victoria, Australia. Here is what Steve had to say about being barefoot.

What inspired you to go barefoot?
Ever since I was a kid I loved being barefoot. What are some of the reasons you like going barefoot? It feels good, better physically for you, looks good and is fun.

Name some places you like going barefoot.
Hardware store, shopping centres, supermarkets. Really anywhere.

Where would you like to try and go barefoot that you haven't done so?
Probably in the city, would be interesting to see how dirty my feet would get and what it feels like under foot.

Why do you think people should go barefoot more often besides at home and the beach?
Why restrict it to the beach, it feels great feeling the cool floor under your foot, for example in a supermarket.

Give us a story of a time you went barefoot and had a lot of fun doing it.
Well just recently my mate and I left work early came home and walked down to the liquor store and got some beers. I had no idea he liked being barefoot so was awesome. We got changed out of our work gear and he didn't have any shoes (other than work shoes) with him so he just was barefoot. Now him and I are only barefoot when we see each other :)

Why do you think some stores have banned going barefoot?
Don't really have that issue in Australia. But elsewhere probably because they don't want to be sued.

Since going barefoot is healthy, why do you think people deny it?
Perception that it's dirty or bad for you.

Finish this analogy: Someone who does not want to go barefoot is like...
Someone who hates living.

What would you say to someone who thinking going barefoot is gross?
Ah you wear your shoes inside your house that you've been wearing all day...

Conclusions.
I do thank Steve for taking the time and answering these questions and as well as supporting that going barefoot is actually a good and healthy thing. Tune in next time when someone else in another country talks about their likes on barefooting. Remember, speak your mind and comment down below.
